The Little Church With The Big Heart
Canoe Camp Church is a progressive church nestled in the midst of the endless mountains in Mansfield, PA
Faithfully serving the community since 1849
A small band of like minded Christians started meeting in village homes in September 1848 and formally organized the church in 1849 under the leadership of evangelist Theobold Miller.
WE ARE 21ST CENTURY CHRISTIANS:
our faith is 2,000 years old, our thinking is not.
We are a joint Christian (Disciples of Christ) and United Church of Christ congregation. More than the building itself, our church is made up of the welcoming and diverse members and church friends.
In addition to supporting both denominations, our church reaches out to the community in a number of ways. Each month, barring any unforeseen circumstances, we offer a free meal to anyone in the community that desires to attend. Our 4th Sunday Suppers are well attended with an average attendance of over 70 people served!
Canoe Camp Church of Christ 1103 South Main St, Mansfield, PA 16933 570-662-3751
We believe that Jesus of Nazareth is the Christ, the Messiah pointed to in the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament). We believe that creeds do more to separate Christians than to bring them together. To that end, we are a noncreedal congregation. We are "open and affirming" and welcome all folks to our church regardless of any classifications which may prove to separate people in other locations.
Our Pastor is Calvin Yoder, a commissioned minister for the Disciples of Christ.
